The U.S. discount giant revealed on Tuesday a plan to team up with the semi-annual style showcase.
Target said it will establish a “strong presence” throughout the event which runs Sept. 4-7 at Arsenal, a contemporary art complex.

In a summarizing release the BBC announced that as of Aug. 11, it drew in some 55 million global browsers to BBC Sport online during the Olympic games. The number, says the broadcaster, mirrors its Olympic TV reach, which pulled in more than 51.9 million views in the United Kingdom.

Yellow Media Inc. has told debtholders and shareholders to support its plan to reduce almost $2 billion in debt or else management will have to pursue other “less favourable” options.
Shareholders and debtholders will vote Sept. 6 on whether to approve the plan to recapitalize Yellow Media’s debt, which the Montreal-based directory publisher says is too high as it transforms to an online company.

Toronto’s Wave Accounting is continuing its push to make complicated topics simple and accessible through the acquisition of Montreal stock analysis startup Vuru.co.
Wave said Tuesday it has picked up Vuru for an undisclosed sum and will fold the two-man team behind the investment research website into its own operations in Toronto.

TORONTO — Sears Canada Inc. is reporting a sharply wider loss in its most recent quarter as the countrywide department store chain sees overall sales dwindle.
The company, 92 per cent owned by U.S. retail giant Sears Holdings Corp., said Wednesday that its net loss in the 13 weeks ended July 28 was $9.8 million or 10 cents per share.
That compared with a net loss of $200,000 or less than a penny per share in the similar 2011 period.
Revenue fell to $1.05 billion from $1.15 billion.

FP Newspapers Inc. had a smaller second-quarter profit as a decline in ad sales cut into revenue at the limited partnership that publishes the Winnipeg Free Press and Brandon Sun.
FP Newspapers earned $1.3 million of 19.2 cents per share in the second quarter, a $500,000 decline from the year-earlier period.

Probably much to everyone’s surprise, some of you will be able to watch the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Summer Olympics streamed live over the Internet. According to a post on Mashable, the chairman of NBC Sports acknowledged that their less than spectacular handling of the opening ceremonies led to the change of heart.

Quebecor Inc. executives say the future of Canadian broadcasting has been on full display during the London Summer Games, but only for a select audience: Customers of rival Bell Canada Inc.

On an earnings call Thursday, Quebecor complained that Bell, the country’s largest telecom and media conglomerate, has kept live Olympic programming from being streamed to mobile customers of Quebecor’s wireless and cable unit, Vidéotron Ltee., making real-time viewing of events exclusive to customers of Bell Mobility.

Bell Canada Enterprises’ new television service appears to be taking away television market share from rival Videotron, which has long had a lock on Quebec’s television viewers.
In a conference call Thursday, Videotron CEO Robert Dépatie admitted Bell’s television service has had an impact on its subscriber base, but said over the past year, it lost merely 1.5 per cent of its cable television customers to Bell.

South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. said on Thursday it has not considered acquiring Research In Motion or licensing the embattled BlackBerry phone maker's new mobile operating system.
A lack of support from potential partners such as Samsung could mean more trouble for RIM, which is seeking various options to turn around its embattled business.

Quebecor Inc.'s second-quarter net profit was up 21 per cent but the Montreal-based media company's adjusted earnings were down, falling short of analyst estimates by four cents a share.
Quebecor says its net income rose to $67 million, or $1.05 per basic share — due mainly to non-operating items.

ABC data for the first half of 2012 has been released, and it shows an overall decline of 3.1% in paid and verified circulation for its Canadian consumer titles.
Of the 66 titles reporting, paid subs were down 5.9% collectively as of June 2012 compared to the same reporting period last year, while single copy sales slipped 1.6% overall during the same period according to the auditor.
